  • Bingo

We nurture the spirit as well as the body and mind.

To care means to be interested, concerned, responsible and attentive to the needs of another. Reaching out to the spirit within our residents, families and staff is a cornerstone of the care services we offer at Providence Rest. We understand that leaving the comfort of home and the support of loved ones can be a traumatic experience. With this knowledge, we approach care with the realization that growth, support and courage all center on one's faith – and we use our talents to provide this environment with unmatched spiritual care.
Our sisters, the Sisters of St. John the Baptist, are deeply committed to serving the spiritual needs of all faiths. When needed, we will make arrangements for pastors, rabbis and ministers to visit with residents.

We provide many religious opportunities for celebration.

For those residents who wish to attend, we provide Roman Catholic Mass three times a week, televised throughout the house. The opportunity to celebrate Holy Communion is available daily and a parish liturgy, open to the community, is held each Sunday. Our Eucharistic Chapel is open 24 hours a day. Each month we hold a special prayer service based on a spiritual or religious theme. Our clergy are always available to provide the Anointing of the Sick.

We celebrate the holidays throughout the year with interfaith programs. Staff, families and residents participate in the sharing experience. Counseling and support are available for residents and families, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In addition, our sisters act as resident advocates, encouraging residents and families to use the resources of faith to cope with illness and loss.
