Where can I get help to regain my strength so I can return home after surgery or injury?

Providence Rest's spacious rehab room provides the perfect setting for rapid recovery from strokes, fractures, surgeries and other conditions. During their stays, our residents receive treatment from licensed therapists who are experienced and dedicated to helping them regain their fullest potential as quickly as possible. In our Activities of Daily Living (ADL) space – which features a fully equipped kitchen with working appliances, a washer/dryer area, dining room, bedroom and bathroom – residents can train to meet the challenges of returning to their homes. Our focus is getting you, or your loved one, back to health and home as soon as possible.

We had 342 admissions to Providence Rest in 2012.  We discharged 185 residents back to their homes.  We rendered 69,142 days of resident care, and 204 days of respite care.

Physical Therapy

Our physical therapists use a variety of methods to get our residents back on their feet and walking, including gait training, transfer training and balance facilitation, as well as mobility/agility training through exercise, and manual therapy such as massage, joint mobilization and neuromuscular re-education.

Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapists help our residents get back to performing routine daily tasks, such as eating, dressing, and toileting so that they can function safely and securely in their own home environments when they are discharged. We offer a special home management and safety program, as well.

Speech Pathology

Our residents may need to learn how to swallow again after a stroke, or require language, articulation, fluency, voice and/or aural therapy. Our speech pathologists work lovingly and patiently with them on their road to recovery.

Massage Therapy

The massage therapy program at Providence Rest focuses on pain management, relief from joint stiffness, and relief from agitation and stress.
